Blissful and uninterrupted reading

I am a slow reader. I read a lot, but squash it in between working and writing. My favourite reading time is on the way to and from work. I get forty minutes of blissful and mostly uninterrupted reading time. If I'm not too tired, I'll snuggle up and read in bed, or weekend morning snuggle-ins, although those are rare.
I do have a TBR on Goodreads, which keeps me a bit more focused (although if I see a good indie book advertised on Instagram I tend to get a wee bit side tracked).
July's reading has been completely unplanned and a bit more fantasy orientated. It started with book one in the Curse of the Cyren Queen series by Helen Scheuerer, and I ended up reading books two and three and preordering book four. I love discovering a fantasy that's original and this one hit all the right spots for me.
Waking Ursa Minor by Helen Rygh Pedersen
I got completely swept away with this one. It's a massive book and the character names are fabulous. A lovely story and I look forward to book two.
Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella
I LOVED this book. It's one of those little treasures you find that you just can't put down. It's a ghost story that made me laugh. And it made me sob! On the train. With everyone looking at me sobbing.
Carrots by Bridget Collins
I had high hopes for this one but if, like me, you have a penchant for Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich, it's hard not to see this as a teeny bit of a knockoff, with the exception of MC Shelby having a husband and family, and mind reading ability.
I'm currently reading A Shining in the Shadows by Beverley Lee. This is the second book in The Gabriel Davenport series and I've been looking forward to this one for a while.
